Anniversary celebrations of the Supreme Court, was graced not only by justices,

judicial officials, and the public, but also by the presence of State Guests and officials from the Red White Cabinet. Their attendance transformed this cultural event into a strategic gathering of state institutions, resonating with profound messages of unity, cultural heritage, and shared commitment to upholding justice in the Republic of Indonesia.

PRESENCE OF STATE GUESTS AND CABINET MINISTERS: A MARK OF RESPECT AND SYNERGY

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. H. Sunarto, S.H., M.H., warmly welcomed the distinguished guests who filled the performance hall. In attendance were representatives of State Guests, Ministers of the Red White Cabinet, Deputy Ministers, senior ministry officials, and heads of other state institutions.

Their presence was far more than merely fulfilling an invitation. It stood as a tangible testament to the highest respect and honor accorded to the nation’s highest judicial institution. It also reflected the spirit of synergy among the branches of state power — the Legislature, the Executive, and the Judiciary — which, though distinct in their roles and functions, remain united under a single purpose: to realize justice, prosperity, and welfare for the entire people of Indonesia.

In his address, Prof. Dr. H. Sunarto stated: “The presence of the State Guests and members of the Red White Cabinet this evening is not simply an act of courtesy. It is proof that this nation is one whole. Under the Red and White flag, we all — whether seated in this building or in the halls of government — serve one master: the People of Indonesia. And we all share one duty: to serve and uphold justice for that very people.”

SEMAR KUNING: A CULTURAL MESSAGE THAT UNITES ALL STATE INSTITUTIONS

The selection of the Semar Kuning epic carries profound meaning that resonates deeply with every state leader present. Semar, the eldest and wisest figure in the Wayang universe, represents the truth that is simple yet unshakeable. He is neither a king, a commander, nor an official — yet it is to him that all those who are lost, oppressed, or in search of truth eventually turn.

This timeless message speaks to every guest in attendance:

– For judicial institutions, Semar is a mirror reflecting that true justice is born of truth itself, not of power.
– For government institutions, Semar reminds public servants that they must always stand with the common people.
– For all national leaders, Semar Kuning teaches that the highest honor is not found in title or rank, but in sincere service and wisdom rooted in society.

When the three master Dalang (puppeteers) — Ki Sri Kuncoro, Prof. Dr. Dr. KPH. Yanto S.K., S.H., M.H., and Ki Sigit Arianto, S.Sn. — began moving the puppets and the Gamelan music filled the hall, a hush fell over the audience. State guests, ministers, senior officials, and ordinary citizens alike were captivated by a story that was not merely a legend of the past, but a mirror of governance in the present day.

THE RED WHITE CABINET AND THE SUPREME COURT: DIFFERENT ROLES, ONE PURPOSE

The presence of Red White Cabinet members at this event also marked a significant moment for strengthening communication and coordination between the Executive and Judicial branches. Under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, the Red White Cabinet continues to advance development across all sectors. Simultaneously, the Supreme Court under Prof. Dr. H. Sunarto strives to accelerate the delivery of justice. The two branches complement one another, rather than competing for dominance.

One Minister in attendance shared his impressions: “Tonight we come not as officials or ministers. We come as children of this nation, witnessing the culture of our ancestors. Semar Kuning reminds us all — whether in government or in the judiciary — that if we serve the people with sincerity, we become Semar for our nation. If we serve only our own interests, we become nothing more than puppets moved by our own desires.”

A CELEBRATION MARKED BY GRANDEUR AND WARMTH

The performance of Semar Kuning proceeded with solemnity yet warmth, enhanced by the breathtaking beauty of traditional Wayang Kulit art, accompanied by melodic Gamelan music and enchanting female vocalists. Cak Percil CS and Dimas Tedjo entertained the audience while conveying profound social messages through humor and reflection, making the epic’s lessons accessible to everyone present — from state dignitaries to ordinary citizens who had waited eagerly since early afternoon.

During the performance, the winners of the door prizes were announced — mountain bicycles and motorcycles — symbolizing independence and the spirit of moving forward. The prizes were presented personally by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, accompanied by State Guests and Red White Cabinet Ministers. The ceremony unfolded with genuine camaraderie, unaffected by rank or title — a reflection of the truth that before culture and justice, all people are equal.

REFLECTING ON 81 YEARS: THE SUPREME COURT AS PART OF A UNITED NATION

Entering its 81st year, the Supreme Court does not stand alone. It is an inseparable part of this nation. The presence of State Guests and Red White Cabinet Ministers tonight confirms a fundamental reality:

– Justice is the concern of the entire nation, not judges alone.
– Law and governance must advance side by side — law ensures justice, governance ensures prosperity.
– The cultural wisdom of our ancestors is a foundation that must never be lost amid the progress of modern times.

The performance of Semar Kuning concluded with thunderous applause and a collective prayer for the progress of the Republic of Indonesia. Prof. Dr. H. Sunarto closed the event with these words: “May this 81st year see the Supreme Court increasingly embody the spirit of Semar for our nation — present, listening, and upholding justice for all people, regardless of who they are, where they come from, or how much power they may wield. Happy 81st Anniversary to the Supreme Court. May we all stand united for a more just Indonesia.”
